Thank you for your email.  I thought my recent experience might help you think about your apartment.



Through the process of purchasing a unit in Towers on the Park, I realized that real estate transaction in New York is an extremely complex process.  Even though we simply bought an apartment from our neighbor, it involves many people.  The sellers had an agent and an attorney, and we attain an attorney to represent our best interest and handle taxes.  Then there was a lengthy board approval process.  I feel lucky that everything was conducted in an amicable way (not always the case when I heard horrible stories), it is an eye opener for me to understand the issues involved.



Let me give you another example.  A friend of mine used to live on the 19th floor, and he sold his apartment to his college friend.  Even though he went to Columbia Law School and has extensive legal experiences, he still needed to hire an agent and a lower to make the transaction.



I have lived in your apartment for 20 years---thank you for renting it to me, and I have fond memories of it.  I truly think that the apartment has a great potential.  I suggest that you work with skilled professionals to maximize its value.
